Laural Mill is a restored timber-frame barn on 40 private wooded acres in Lawrence County. Exposed beams, hardwood floors, wrought-iron chandeliers. Tables, chairs, linens, and a full decor collection come standard. You bring the caterer you actually want — not the one the venue forces on you.
Nick and Diane Giulioni own and operate Laural Mill. The same family owns The Wilds, so coordination between the venues is seamless if you’re considering both.
Getting Ready Without the Rush
Most barn venues put the bridal party in a church basement or a rental tent while you wait for the ceremony slot. Laural Mill has a dedicated bridal suite with mirrors, seating, and natural light — and a separate groom’s quarters so the two sides actually stay apart until the ceremony.
Both suites open onto the property, so there’s no awkward hallway encounter between the wedding party and the grandparents. You show up ready. Your people show up ready. Nobody’s drying off a dress in a parking lot.
The getting-ready spaces are part of the venue — not an add-on fee, not a separate building, not contingent on your package level.
Reception Details That Actually Look Like You
The difference between a barn wedding and a barn wedding venue is what happens after the vows. At a field rental, you’re dragging centerpieces from your living room and hoping the DIY escort table doesn’t collapse during cocktails. At Laural Mill, our decor library is part of the package — hundreds of pieces, already at the venue, already set up by our team.
You want lantern centerpieces and garland runners? They’re here. You’re more of a森minimal bud vase couple? Those are here too. The room looks put-together before you arrive, not because you spent six months assembling it.
Our coordinator works with your vendors on timeline and setup logistics. Your DJ isn’t hunting for an outlet. Your caterer isn’t wondering where the serving tables go. That’s not a luxury — it’s the baseline.

Couple Portraits on Your Timeline
Golden hour at Laural Mill is the mill stream, the timber-frame barn doors, the tree line at the property edge. Your photographer knows the property — these photos don’t require driving anywhere or coordinating a second golf cart. The light is already there.
Couples tell us the property gives them everything they need for portraits without eating into reception time. You can do first looks, bridal party photos, and full couple portraits on-site. The worst-case scenario for photography at Laural Mill is over-delivery, not logistics failures.

No — it’s a restored barn that was purpose-built for events. The farm it sits on is still active in the sense that it’s private land with natural character, but there are no animals, no working farm operations, and no farm stand. What you get is the rustic aesthetic without the logistical realities of an actual farm venue.
Yes to both. Our catering policy is open — any licensed caterer is welcome. BYOB is allowed with a licensed bartender. We’ve hosted everything from family-style BBQ to formal plated service to food trucks. Your caterer has access to a full on-site kitchen.
Every package includes venue access, tables, chairs, linens, full setup and teardown, day-of coordination, access to the decor library, bridal suite, groom’s quarters, rehearsal time, and use of both ceremony sites. The price varies by guest count and season — peak fall weekends are at the higher end.
Maximum of 200. The venue works best for 80 to 175 — intimate enough to feel personal, large enough for a real party. We don’t try to squeeze in 250 because that number doesn’t fit comfortably in the barn.
We’re in Bloomington, Lawrence County, about 25 minutes from downtown Bloomington. From Indianapolis it’s roughly 90 minutes. From Louisville it’s about two hours. Most of your guest list in southern Indiana will be within 60 to 90 minutes.
